My Kind Of Sweet Home | Our Flocked Christmas Tree + Holiday Decor

Hi, sweet friends.

Yep. I am now that blogger who put up the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving. If not in 2020, then when??

I’ve always had a real Christmas tree. Until last year, when I had a newborn baby, toddler and 5 year old and couldn’t see straight. We decided to go for a fake tree and I loved it.

While I missed the tradition of going to the Christmas Tree Farm and cutting down our own tree, I welcomed the ease of a fake tree – not having to remember to water it (another thing to take care of) and constantly vacuuming up pine needles.

We decided to go for a flocked Christmas tree (that’s on sale!) because I always choose form over function and it’s SO darn pretty. OK. So I keep getting asked if the fake snow gets everywhere and the answer is YES, at first. When we first put it up, the little snow was all over the place. Then, when we decorated it, again – snow everywhere. But once it’s all decorated and no one is constantly touching it, the snow stays put on the tree.

I keep the ornaments pretty neutral (shocking, I know). We have a lot of sentimental ornaments that we’ve collected over the years. Last year we had another tree in our living room, but I’m not sure we’re doing that this year. The girls have little Christmas trees in their rooms and they chose which ornaments they wanted. It was so cute and a nice distraction for them while I decorated our tree.

I am constantly playing around with the built in decor, but here’s what they look like right now. I just love these little ceramic houses so much.
