We’ve been in our new home for just over a year. It takes so long to make a house a home, but it’s all coming together. I’ve loved taking my time to choose the right pieces. I’ll be sharing a room on the blog each Wednesday in a new series.
We didn’t build this house, but rather totally lucked out and found a new house that fit our style perfectly. I don’t have the exact sources for some of the finishings, lighting, etc, but I’m sharing similar options in this post.
I hope you enjoy this tour of our kitchen! It’s the heart of our home and my favorite place…

I have my eye on a different stools, but we’re keeping these for right now because they’re sturdy (kids) and easy to clean (kids).
I often get asked about our flooring. It’s French Oak and the builder created their own stain by adding a drop of gray.
This rugis my favorite piece in the whole kitchen. Most of our home is neutral with some black and white, but I wanted more of a statement rug in the kitchen. It took me a few months to find the perfect rug, and this is definitely it. The quality is amazing – it doesn’t shed and has held up perfectly against the high traffic and small spills and crumbs.
Our kitchen island cabinets are gray and the rest of the kitchen is white. I absolutely love that they didn’t do the whole kitchen in white. I love the clean lines of the flat polished chrome cabinet pulls.
I really enjoy changing out the countertop decor and creating little moments. It’s the merchandiser in me.
