Finally! I’ve had so many questions about SHEIN and requests to review it, and I’ve finally done it. Shopping is so hard, right? #lies Today I’m bringing you an honest review of SHEIN, along with shopping tips, what to buy and what to avoid. Let’s get started…
Honestly, before now I haven’t been into the whole SHEIN thing. I love a good deal as much as the next girl, but there was just something that felt weird to me about ordering from there. I mean, how are the prices SO low? It has to be too good to be true, right?
Not exactly.
I wasn’t expecting much when my package showed up on my doorstep. The packaging didn’t do much to help this. It came in a nondescript plastic bag. Hmmm. Not impressed.
Imagine my surprise when I open the package and tried on my haul.
You guys. I’m a believer.
And, since my 1 and 3 year olds didn’t appreciate my excitement over my newfound shopping find, I had to shout it from the rooftops to those who would understand. Which, of course, means I had to share a sneak peek on my Instagram Stories.
I’m not going to overhaul my wardrobe (which is why you’ll see even in this post some pieces that aren’t from SHEIN), but I will definitely start incorporating more SHEIN pieces into my looks.
OK, here’s my haul: this maxi dress (sold out, but here is a similar dress in a pretty floral print), this pink waterfall coat (comes in 4 colors and is $10), these belted striped pants (sold out but here is a similar pair), this cut and sew hoodie (also sold out but here is a similar one) and this pair of sandals (sold out, similar).
Not everything was a hit, but overall, I have to say, I’m impressed and I’ll be back.

I LOVE these pants. They totally blew away my expectations. (Fine, for $18 I wasn’t expecting much. But, still.) The waist detailing is perfect and they fit well. You’ll be seeing them on here soon.

Hands down my FAVORITE purchase of my haul. There’s not much to it, design wise. It’s not lined and the material is pretty light. BUT, the fit is amazing and I love the color for spring. It’s probably the best $21 I’ve ever spent.
Hoodie ($16) | Leggings (not SHEIN)
I’m not a huge fan of this hoodie. It’s very thin, and not at all cozy. I wouldn’t order it again. But, that said, I’ll probably wear it, because I do like the colors and the overall style.
Maxi dress (sold out, here is the same style, but in a gorgeous floral print) | Sandals ($18)
Probably ordering this maxi dress in every pattern for spring and summer. It’s so easy and cute. This spring, I’ll pair it with my denim jacket and in summer I’ll wear it with my espadrilles and straw bag.

Pass, pass, pass. They’re cute, but it feels like you’re walking on paper.
TIPS FOR SHOPPING AT SHEIN
ALLOW ENOUGH TIME FOR DELIVERY. According to their site, you will receive your order in 6-17 business days from the date that it is placed. I received most of my order within a week; however, one item was backordered and didn’t arrive for another week.
KNOW YOUR BODY. Know what looks good and what flatters your body type. Not only is this crucial when ordering anything online, but especially when weeding through the crazy amount of inventory they have.
GO BY THE SIZING MEASUREMENTS, NOT JUST THE SIZE. Get out your measuring tape. It’ll help a ton to decide your correct size.
READ THE REVIEWS. So helpful. Believe them.
WHAT TO BUY
Stick to the trends. My life motto: splurge on the classics and save on the trends.
Dresses. Especially for spring, their selection is SO good.
Something you wouldn’t normally buy. Take a risk.
WHAT TO AVOID
Anything you’re going to wear again and again. Most likely, the clothing just isn’t going to hold up season after season.
The shoes. (Granted, I only ordered these sandals, but I wasn’t impressed. They are flimsy and not at all comfortable.)
Sweaters. Maybe it’s the sweater snob in me (it is), but I can’t stand a cheap sweater.

I’m ordering for the first time and have looked over the sizing and the material very closely as I know how these sites can be. I am ordering three sets of pajamas, a bathrobe , two short sleeve pocket split side dress and a rolled up sleeve split back self tie outerwear, was going to order that wrap jacket thought it might be too bulky but now that I have seen it on you I have it on my wishlist. I am severely disabled from my car accident and I want comfort with a reasonable price. Do you know if any of these items I have ordered are of good quality? Thanks just thought I’d ask before I place an order.

Omg thank you thank you I ordered things that are simple and I’m soooooooo glad I didn’t go with their sandals and choose to opt for Amazon sandals thank Jesus lol my order hasn’t got here but I’ve got faith like your tattoo? that it will come and what I ordered with a great selection a few pairs of shorts and a maxi dress????

Hey is it OK if I ask what your dimensions are? I’m looking at ordering the striped pants and it says I’d fit an XS but I’m highly skeptical as I’m usually a S or M on Shein.

I have been ordering from Shein and never had a problem. Just recently by mistake for whatever reason Shein Outlet, which is the same company but with other set of policies, I placed an order with them, thinking it was Shine. To my surprise of 17 items that i bought, only 3 fit. The rest was inferior quality and the size (even I ordered bigger size) was like for a 15 year old girl. They do not accept returns. So I am stuck now with over 100.00+ garments. I may give them to charity or something like that. Bottom line…be very careful and make sure you are placing your order with Shine and not Shine-Outlet (based in China).

Just ordered 2 dresses from Shein, read mixed reviews so not 100% if they will be any good. So cheap it’s worth a try. Will keep you posted.

Im in love with there leggings… But here is my problem I am 6’1 and usually wear a size Large… I so badly want to put my order in at Shein for these very cute leggings but I’m worried due to reviews I’ve read!!! I would really like some help please before I place my order and become very upset when my order arrives and none of them fit!!! I would like to tell everyone that I ordered a top in Nov, it was charged to my account but never received my top. They have yet to talk to me about this. I have sent so many emails to them & no response. I wouldn’t order anything from them. After my husband & I sent email after email, NOTHING FROM THEM.

I just love shopping and your tips on shopping from the store Shein are really good. I heard about that store much time but did not buy till now but i would love to try. I just want to check the collection and known to what part they maintain and know the quality of their services. I definitely check for the fashion in the store for sure.

I just found Shein thru Rakuten and have bought many small, crazy inexpensive, lovely things (correction tape, soap paper, necklace, door opener, etc), just to satisfy my craving for shopping while staying at home without going broke… LOL. I just had to return 1 item and was able to do it without any issue. Haven’t tried clothing though.

As a shopaholic person, I never left any store to shop from but yup Shein is still left. But I heard many bad reviews about them and was confused about what to do. But your honest review gave me much relief! Thankyou so much for sharing this. Gonna shop from them soon Yay!
