Hi friends! Can we take a quick 5 minute break from Christmas joy to talk about something? I’ll get to the parkas and poms in a second, but first up: parenting fails. 

My girl is 3 years old and…WHOA. Three is hard, you guys.

Why do people always talk about the Terrible Twos? Why not the Traumatic Threes?  Sure, they call them “threenagers,” but c’mon. That just doesn’t cut it.  

If I’m going to be completely honest (and I am because that’s just how I roll), I feel like I fail at parenting every day.

Every. Single. Day. 

Maybe I don’t fail in big ways. But in small lose-my-patience-yell-too-much ways, I feel like I fail every day. 

The toughest part is the constant doubting and wondering exactly how I’m failing. Am I too hard on her? Not hard enough? Does she need more structure? Less? 

My girl is strong-willed and determined and stubborn and complicated and while I know those traits will serve her well once she leaves the nest, they challenge me to my mama core.

I don’t have the answers.I hear it gets better. (Just in time for the teen years…). If you’re struggling, too, and feel like you’re failing, hang in there, mama.

OK, let’s escape into fashion now, shall we? 

This coat is my favorite purchase of the season.  (It’s old but linked this year’s version.) There are still some sizes left in all 3 colors, but i’m sure they will sell out soon, so I’ve also linked very similar styles at the bottom of the post.

Yes, I’m still rocking my mom jeans, even in freezing temps. Form over function, what can I say?

My boots are my regular ol’ Uggs, but I’ve been wearing them rolled down lately. If you don’t have a pair yet, ignore your husband and get yourself some! The coziness can’t be beat. 

My pom sweater is from last year, but this one is very similar. I’ve also linked more fun sweaters at the bottom of the post!
